Lady Vikings Dominate Blue Mountain in Conference Blowout
The Lady Vikings hosted the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves on Saturday, January 24, and wasted no time setting the tone, rolling to an emphatic 81–29 victory.
Big Bend came out firing from the opening tip, overwhelming the Timberwolves on both ends of the floor. The game was effectively decided by halftime, as the Lady Vikings built a commanding 43–11 lead heading into the break.
Despite shooting 37 percent from the field, Big Bend's defensive effort proved to be the difference. The Lady Vikings held Blue Mountain to just 18 percent shooting and forced constant pressure throughout the game, finishing with 13 steals in a standout defensive performance.
Oakley Homer led all scorers with 21 points, while Oaklie Jackman recorded yet another double-double, tallying 14 points and 14 rebounds in the blowout win.
With the victory, the Lady Vikings improve to 5–1 in conference play and will look to keep their momentum going as they prepare to host Wenatchee Valley College this upcoming Wednesday.
