Lady Vikings Dominate Spokane Falls, Improve to 3–0 in Conference Play
The Lady Vikings hosted the Spokane Falls Community College Sasquatch on Wednesday, January 14, and delivered a dominant performance, cruising to a 74–43 victory to secure their 17th win of the season.
Big Bend set the tone early, jumping out to a commanding 23–6 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 34–17 advantage into halftime. While the third quarter was more closely contested and allowed Spokane Falls to hang around, the Lady Vikings slammed the door in the final frame, outscoring the Sasquatch by 10 points to seal the win.
Balance was the key for Big Bend, as all five starters reached double figures. Kaliyah Evans led the way with 18 points, followed closely by Brooke Warren with 17. Oaklie Jackman added 14 points, Oakley Homer chipped in 13, and Saydee Pebley rounded out the scoring with 12 points.
The Lady Vikings were firing on all cylinders offensively, shooting right at 50 percent from the floor, while their defense stifled Spokane Falls to just 30 percent shooting. Big Bend was especially effective on the perimeter, locking down the Sasquatch and holding them scoreless on 0-for-14 shooting from beyond the arc.
With the victory, the Lady Vikings improve to 3–0 in conference play and now turn their attention to a road matchup against the Columbia Basin Hawks this upcoming Saturday.
