Lady Vikes Split Busy Week, Capture Five-Set Win Over Wenatchee Valley
The Lady Vikes had another busy week beginning on Wednesday, October 8, as they hosted the Walla Walla Warriors. BBCC got off to a solid start but came up short in the opening set, 25–21. From there, the momentum shifted in favor of the Warriors, who took the next two sets 25–19 and 25–11 to complete the sweep.
Despite the loss, several Lady Vikes turned in strong individual performances. Reagan Golladay delivered her best offensive outing of the season with 11 kills, while Oaklee Woosley added five of her own. Haedynn Plum and Charley Utley each chipped in four kills, and Edyn Marlatt led the offense with 21 assists in the losing effort.
BBCC bounced back on Friday when they hit the road to face the Wenatchee Valley Knights. After dropping the first set, the Lady Vikes rallied to take the next two by scores of 25–19 and 25–23. Wenatchee Valley responded with a close win in the fourth, but BBCC held firm in the decisive fifth set, earning a 15–11 victory.
The win was fueled by strong play from Golladay and Woosley, who combined for 23 kills. Marlatt was exceptional in setting up the offense, recording an impressive 44 assists in the match.
With a bye week ahead, the Lady Vikes will use the extra time to rest and regroup before traveling to Pendleton, Oregon, next Friday to take on the Blue Mountain Community College Timberwolves.
