BBCC embarked on another lengthy road trip, traveling eight hours south to Twin Falls, Idaho for a non-league matchup against the College of Southern Idaho. The weekend proved to be a challenging one, as the Vikings dropped all four games.
In game one, BBCC battled from start to finish but came up short in a 3–1 loss. Cole McKinnon delivered three innings of quality work on the mound, surrendering just one run on a solo home run and keeping the Vikings within striking distance. Despite the strong start, BBCC's offense couldn't generate enough momentum to pull even.
Game two saw freshman Josh Stirm get the nod. He provided two solid innings before turning things over to the bullpen. From there, control issues and defensive miscues proved costly. The bullpen struggled to command the zone, and errors in the field compounded the damage as CSI pulled away for an 11–1 run-rule victory after five innings.
Hoping for a reset the following day, the Vikings instead found themselves in an early hole in game three. Costly mistakes opened the door, and CSI's lineup took full advantage. The Golden Eagles' bats were locked in throughout the contest, handing BBCC a 24–3 defeat.
In game four, freshman Ryu Murase started on the mound but ran into trouble early, allowing five runs in just 2 1/3 innings of work. With pitching woes continuing, defensive mistakes piling up, and the offense struggling to find consistency, the Vikings fell 10–1 to close out the series.
One bright spot for BBCC came from sophomore second baseman Ricardo Leon Guerrero II, who led the team offensively with six hits over the weekend.
The Vikings will look to regroup as they prepare to face Spokane Falls Community College this Friday at Gonzaga for another doubleheader, aiming to bounce back and regain momentum.
