Lady Vikings’ Eight-Game Win Streak Snapped by Warriors
Riding high on an eight-game win streak, the Lady Vikings traveled to Walla Walla for a highly anticipated showdown with the Warriors. With both teams sitting atop the Eastern Region standings, the matchup had all the makings of a heavyweight battle.
BBCC came out strong in the opening quarter, setting the tone early and building a 20–16 lead. The Lady Vikings looked poised and confident, executing on both ends of the floor.
However, momentum quickly shifted in the second quarter. Walla Walla caught fire offensively, while BBCC struggled to find rhythm. A tough stretch before halftime saw the Lady Vikings fall behind 43–31 at the break.
Hoping to regroup and respond after halftime, BBCC instead endured another difficult quarter. Shots refused to fall, and the Warriors capitalized, extending their lead. A challenging shooting night ultimately proved too much to overcome, as the Lady Vikings fell 82–62, snapping their impressive win streak.
Kaliyah Evans led the way for BBCC with a strong individual performance, scoring 28 points on 12-of-23 shooting. Despite her efforts, the rest of the squad struggled from the floor, making it difficult to keep pace with a balanced Warriors attack.
The Lady Vikings will look to bounce back in their regular-season finale this Wednesday when they host the Yakima Valley Yaks at 7 p.m. With postseason play looming, BBCC will aim to regroup and regain momentum on their home court.
