Late Surge Sinks Lady Vikings in Midweek Matchup

After a packed weekend schedule, the Lady Vikings faced a quick turnaround Tuesday as they hosted Spokane Falls Community College in a doubleheader. Despite flashes of strong offensive production, the Vikings were unable to keep pace late in game one and struggled to recover from an early deficit in game two.

The opener turned into a competitive back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading momentum throughout. However, Spokane Falls found another gear in the later innings, pulling away to secure a 6–2 victory. Kayla Anthony and Dakota Brown each recorded two hits in the loss, providing a steady presence at the plate. Still, a late push by Spokane proved too much for the Vikings to overcome.

Looking to salvage a split, the Lady Vikings took the field for game two but quickly found themselves in trouble. Spokane Falls jumped out to a commanding 8–1 lead after just two and a half innings, putting the Vikings in a deep hole early. Despite their efforts, the comeback never materialized.

Dakota Brown delivered a standout performance in the second game, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and launching a home run. Peyton Trautman also contributed offensively with two hits of her own, but the early deficit proved insurmountable.

With the regular season winding down, the Lady Vikings now turn their focus to their final four games. They will hit the road this weekend, traveling to Blue Mountain Community College on Friday before closing out the season with a trip to Ontario, Oregon, to take on Treasure Valley Community College.
