Lady Vikings Endure Tough Weekend Against Hawks and Warriors

The Lady Vikings faced a challenging slate over the weekend, hosting Columbia Basin College on Friday before welcoming Walla Walla Community College on Saturday. Despite flashes of offensive production, the Vikings struggled to contain two powerful lineups, dropping all four games.

Friday's opener against the Hawks got off to a difficult start, as Columbia Basin plated three runs in the first inning, added five more in the fourth, and tacked on another in the fifth to secure a 9-0 mercy-rule victory in five innings. The Lady Vikings managed just one hit in the game and were overmatched by the Hawks' offensive pressure.

Game two showed signs of life offensively for the Vikings. They collected nine hits and pushed across five runs, but Columbia Basin's bats remained relentless, completing the sweep with a 14-5 win. Alexa Clark and Jaeda Gonzalez each recorded two hits in the effort, leading a more productive showing at the plate.

Saturday brought another stiff test as the Lady Vikings squared off with the Warriors. Walla Walla Warriors unleashed a dominant offensive performance in game one, erupting for 16 runs in a 16-0 victory while holding the Vikings hitless.

Game two followed a similar trajectory, though the Vikings showed some improvement offensively. They tallied seven hits and scored two runs, but ultimately fell 13-2. Alexa Clark and Jaeda Gonzalez again led the offense with two hits apiece, while Mady Morris provided a highlight with a solo home run.

It was a difficult weekend for the Lady Vikings, who will look to regroup and finish the season strong as they continue to search for consistency on both sides of the field.
