Lady Vikings Split Busy Weekend After Sweeping Wenatchee Valley

The Lady Vikings geared up for a busy weekend on the diamond, traveling to face Wenatchee Valley College on Friday before returning home to host Yakima Valley College on Saturday. After an impressive Friday sweep, the Vikings ran into a tough Yakima Valley squad on Saturday, finishing the weekend with a 2-2 record.

Friday was a successful day for the Lady Vikings, who opened the weekend by sweeping Wenatchee Valley in dominant fashion.

In Game One, the Lady Vikings came out swinging and never looked back, defeating the Knights 8-0. Dakota Brown powered the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, including a home run, while Mady Morris added three hits of her own. Brown was just as dominant in the circle, tossing a shutout over five innings and striking out four to lead the Lady Vikings to the convincing win.

The offense stayed hot in Game Two as the Lady Vikings completed the sweep with a 9-6 victory. Brown continued her huge day, going 2-for-3 with another home run and two RBIs. Shanoah Spear delivered the biggest blow of the game, finishing 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including two home runs, as the Vikings' bats stayed alive throughout the afternoon.

Saturday, however, proved to be a different challenge.

In Game One against Yakima Valley, the Lady Vikings' offense was held in check as they fell 9-0. The Vikings managed just five hits in the loss, with Brown accounting for two of them, but they were unable to generate the timely offense needed to keep pace.

Game Two was much more competitive as the Lady Vikings battled back and forth with Yakima Valley, but they came up just short in a 7-6 loss. Peyton Trautman had a strong performance at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs, while Brown added yet another home run, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Despite the improved offensive effort, Yakima Valley was able to edge out the Lady Vikings in the late innings.

The weekend showed both the offensive firepower and resilience of the Lady Vikings, who will look to build on Friday's momentum as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
