Vikings Snap Three-Game Skid With Road Win at Yakima Valley
Currently riding a three-game skid, Big Bend looked to get back on track on the road against the Yakima Valley Yaks—and did just that with an impressive second-half performance, pulling away for an 86–77 victory.
The Vikings came out firing in the first half, matching Yakima Valley shot for shot and taking a slim 42–40 lead into the break. After halftime, BBCC made key adjustments on both ends of the floor, tightening up defensively while continuing to execute offensively to create separation and secure the win.
Jakari Singleton put on an absolute clinic off the bench, leading all scorers with 30 points on an ultra-efficient 11-of-15 shooting performance. Singleton also knocked down four three-pointers, providing a major spark that swung momentum firmly in Big Bend's favor.
As a team, BBCC enjoyed their best shooting night of the season, connecting on 64 percent of their field-goal attempts. The Vikings were also solid from the free-throw line, converting 18 of 23 attempts to close out the victory.
Hoping to build momentum from the road win, the Vikings return home to face Blue Mountain Community College this Saturday at the DeVries Activity Center.
