Vikings Roll in Preseason Finale
Big Bend Community College wrapped up its preseason schedule in emphatic fashion on January 3rd, hosting Elite Prep Post Grad at the DeVries Activity Center. The Vikings came out firing on all cylinders, building a commanding 21-point halftime lead before cruising to a 97–60 victory in their final tuneup before conference play.
True to the nature of a preseason finale, BBCC showcased its depth throughout the contest. Sugar Eaton once again led the way offensively, pouring in a game-high 24 points while shooting an efficient 8-for-10 from the floor. Eaton's scoring set the tone, but it was a balanced team effort that defined the Vikings' performance.
Miguel, Taylor, Lorenzo Contreras, and Jakari Singleton all reached double figures, highlighting BBCC's ability to spread the scoring load. In total, 10 Vikings logged at least 15 minutes of playing time, giving the coaching staff a valuable look at rotations and lineup combinations heading into the heart of the season.
As a team, BBCC shot an impressive 53% from the field, consistently converting quality looks and maintaining pressure on both ends of the floor. The lopsided final score reflected not only offensive efficiency, but also disciplined execution and energy throughout the lineup.
With the preseason now in the books, the Vikings turn their attention to conference play. BBCC will open league action at home on January 7th when they face the Wenatchee Valley Knights, looking to carry their momentum into games that count.
