The Runnin' Vikes trailed by as much as 19 points in the first half and as much 24 in the second as Wenatchee Valley kept Big Bend at bay for most of the evening claiming a 103-83 victory Wednesday night at home.
The biggest difference in the contest was the 3-pointing shooting of WVC who connected on 15-of-35 3-point attempts while the Vikings connected on just 7-of-21. Big Bend outrebounded the Knights 34-26, but Wenatchee used great ball movement to get the open shot (21 team assists) and take the win.
Big Bend was led by Seraphin Decker (SO; Las Vegas, NV), Koby Huerta (SO; Covington, WA), and Mauricio Smith (SO; Las Vegas, NV) who scored 23 points, 20 points, and 19 points respectively. Huerta and Smith each added 7 rebounds each and Decker dished out 5 assists.
The Runnin' Vikes currently sit in fifth place in the NWAC East Region with a (12-5 overall) 2-4 conference record. CLICK HERE FOR STANDINGS
Blue Mountain, who is tied for fifth place with Big Bend, will pay a visit to the Peter C. DeVries Center on Saturday afternoon as the Vikings try to get back in the win column.
