Four Big Bend starters put up 20 or more points and freshman Payton Nielsen (Almira, WA) offered-up a double-double off of the bench on Saturday as the Runnin' Vikes defeated Yakima Valley by 15 points, 108-93. With the win, BBCC pulled to .500 on the season in the Northwest Athletic Conference's East Region.

Sophomore Koby Huerta (Covington, WA) knocked down 9-of-10 free throws and dished out 5 assists en route to leading all scorers with 24 points. However, sophomores Mauricio Smith (Las Vegas, NV) and Joey Andrews (Riverton, UT) each dropped 23 points while also pulling down 9 rebounds. Guard Seraphin Decker added 20 points with 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Big Bend (12-3, 2-2) shot 59.1% from the field as a team and nailed 22-of-26 from the charity stripe, however, their problems with turnovers continue to persist as they gave the ball away 18 times.

The Runnin' Vikes will be back in action on Saturday evening in Ontario, WA when they face Treasure Valley (5-9, 3-1) at 4 PM PST.
